Drapery

From the early Egyptian use of animal hides to hang in doorways as protection, to the first use in the late 16th century of fabrics to adorn windows and beds, curtains and draperies have shielded us from cold and light and defined the richness and character of our private spaces.

Our first collection of curtains and draperies begins with the most classic form of hand embroidery....the hemstitch...which we call our Whitework Collection. This embroidery technique is more precious than ever as the skill becomes harder and harder to find.

THE PRODUCTS

Curtains, defined as single panels of fabric, and Draperies, defined as lined panels of fabric, add a finishing touch to soften and frame the architecture of a room - be it a window, a door or a bed.

THE CRAFTSMANSHIP

We are lucky to have been working in Vietnam for over twenty years and we have established a full time embroidery group who specialise in this traditional skill and who are determined with us, to keep it alive.

THE PROCESS

The design process begins with a pencil drawing. Its a slow, low tech approach, but these pencil strokes are what translate into our hand embroidered designs. This hands on approach - and the unique finish it produces is key to everything we do.
