Ashlar
A stone fireplace designed in 1940 by my grandfather for a family home was the starting point of this design. Even as a child I always loved looking at the surface, the blending of colours, the light against the stone and the simplicity of something strong and beautiful. My grandfather would not recognize it but our modern interpretation captures the essence of his mid-century design.
The family fireplace was in wonderful tones of honey and amber, all sorts of greys and a hint of purple. Thanks to the talent of our hand embroiderers the subtle tones and textures are achieved by carefully blending threads. We have kept true to the original colours but added two more colourways of blue stones and many shades of pure grey.
